TNEA 2026 Photo Resize, Signature Resize and Certificate Upload Guide

TNEA 2026 means Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2026. It is the common online counselling process for admission to first year B.E. and B.Tech degree courses in Government Engineering Colleges, Government Aided Engineering Colleges, University Departments and Constituent Colleges of Anna University, Annamalai University and seats surrendered by Self-Financing Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu. TNEA is not a separate entrance exam like JEE Main. For students, the most stressful part is not only rank or counselling. It is the upload stage. A TNEA application can get stuck because the passport photo is above 50KB, the signature is too small, the community certificate PDF is below 150KB, the marksheet PDF is above 1MB, or the upload is frozen before checking the preview. The official TNEA registration instructions say certificates and documents must be uploaded separately, and each certificate can be an image or PDF file from 150KB to 1MB. Supported image formats are JPG, JPEG, JPE and PNG. These limits are simple, but many students miss the minimum size. A file that is only 8KB may upload badly or appear unclear during verification. Aim for a clear photo around 30KB to 45KB and a clear signature around 25KB to 45KB.

Before starting TNEA online registration, keep your personal details, school details and academic details ready. If a certificate has two pages, merge the pages in the correct order and compress the final PDF to stay between 150KB and 1MB.

The Freeze Upload button is the point of no return for the document stage. The official instruction says that once uploads are frozen, you cannot delete or re-upload certificates. Before freezing, open every uploaded file preview if available, check that the name on the document is readable, check that the certificate number is visible, check that the seal and signature are clear, and check that the file is attached to the correct upload field. Do not upload a nativity certificate in the community certificate field or a transfer certificate in the marksheet field. These mistakes create verification delays.

Use simple filenames such as tnea-photo.jpg, tnea-signature.png, hsc-marksheet.pdf, community-certificate.pdf and transfer-certificate.pdf.
