JEE Main Photo, Signature, Class 10 PDF and ID Proof Upload Guide

JEE Main application filling has become more than a simple photo-and-signature upload. The NTA form asks for registration, personal details, paper selection, exam city choices, educational details, live photograph capture, scanned photograph, signature, Class 10 or equivalent certificate/marksheet PDF, identity proof in some verification cases, and PwD/PwBD certificate where applicable. This page is built for that exact upload stage. Use it to prepare JEE Main photo size 2026 files, JEE Main signature size files, Class 10 certificate PDFs, ID proof JPGs, and category or PwD documents before you start the application form.

How to Prepare JEE Main Upload Files in 5 Steps

1

Start with a correct passport photograph

Use a recent colour passport photo against a white background. The face should be clear, about 80 percent visible, ears should be visible, and there should be no mask. Do not use a screenshot, old school ID photo, filtered selfie, heavily edited image or someone else's photograph. NTA says it reserves the right to verify candidate details and photographs.

2

Resize and compress photo to 10-200KB

Open Photo Resize and use the JEE Main preset as a passport-photo working size. Then use Image Compress if the JPG is still heavy. Keep the final image clearly legible, not just technically small. A safe target is often 80KB to 150KB.

3

Prepare signature and identity proof separately

Sign on plain white paper using a dark pen and crop only the signature area. The signature JPG/JPEG should be 10KB to 100KB. If you verify through a method other than Aadhaar or DigiLocker, prepare the identity proof as a clearly legible JPG/JPEG between 10KB and 200KB. Do not mix up the signature and ID proof fields.

4

Make Class 10 and PwD PDFs readable

The Class 10 or equivalent certificate/marksheet PDF should be 50KB to 300KB. PwD/PwBD or UDID certificate PDF also uses the 50KB to 300KB range where applicable. Use Image to PDF, PDF Merge, and PDF Compress to keep pages readable while reducing file size.

5

Handle live photo and final preview carefully

During the form, switch on the camera or use the QR code flow if the device has no webcam. Use a light-coloured background, proper lighting and 80 percent face visibility including ears. After uploads, preview every file before payment. Save confirmation page, application number, uploaded photo, signature, certificate PDF and fee proof because these records are needed later for admit card, result, JoSAA or CSAB admission work.

Common JEE Main Upload Rejection Reasons

Photo outside 10-200KB

Large phone photos fail upload, while over-compressed images may not be clearly legible.

Face not clear or wrong background

NTA expects 80 percent face visibility including ears, without mask, against white background.

Class 10 PDF not readable

A compressed PDF that hides name, DOB, marks or board details can create verification trouble.

Wrong person's files uploaded

The bulletin warns that using someone else's photograph, signature or certificates may be treated as unfair means.

About JEE Main Application Documents

JEE Main is the national entrance examination for admission to B.E., B.Tech., B.Arch. and B.Planning routes, and it also acts as the qualifying doorway toward JEE Advanced for eligible candidates. Because it is used by NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions and many state or private admission processes, clean application records matter beyond the exam day.

The upload stage connects directly to identity verification. The passport photograph and live photograph should match the candidate clearly. The signature should be readable. The Class 10 certificate or marksheet should support name and date of birth details. PwD or PwBD documents, where applicable, may be verified through official channels. A careless image upload can create avoidable problems during correction, admit card, result, JoSAA counselling or admission verification.

PrepTools keeps this preparation local. Your JEE Main photo, signature, ID proof, Class 10 PDF, PwD certificate and admission documents stay in the browser. You get the required JPG and PDF compression without sending files to a server.

Planning for counselling too?

JEE Main application files are different from JoSAA counselling documents. Keep both sets clean.
