How to Prepare NEET UG Upload Files in 5 Steps

1

Start with the correct passport photograph

Use a recent passport-size photo taken on or after 01 January 2026. The face should be clear, 80 percent of the image area should be the candidate's face, ears should be visible, and the background should be white. Spectacles are allowed only if used regularly. Avoid masks, heavy shadows, filters, polaroid-style images, computer-generated photos, and over-edited studio output.

2

Resize and compress photo without losing identity detail

Open Photo Resize and use the NEET preset as a passport-photo working format, then check the final file in Image Compress if needed. The official file size is 10KB to 200KB. A safe target is usually around 80KB to 150KB: small enough to upload, clear enough for admit card, attendance sheet, counselling and admission records.

3

Prepare signature and finger impressions separately

Sign clearly on plain white paper and crop only the signature area. For left and right hand fingers and thumb impressions, use dark ink and clean white paper. Do not upload a single thumb impression if the form asks for fingers and thumbs of both hands. Keep each impression readable. Blurred or unclear impressions can be rejected, and the bulletin warns that correction may not be available for these uploads.

4

Compress certificates as legible PDFs

Category certificate, Class X certificate, Class X marksheet, CGPA conversion certificate, PwD or UDID certificate, address proof, NRI or OCI documents, and scribe-related documents may be required depending on your profile. Use Image to PDF, PDF Merge, and PDF Compress to keep these documents readable while staying near the 50KB to 300KB range.

5

Handle live photo and final preview carefully

During the NTA form, complete the live photograph capture in good light with a light-coloured background. The face should be visible including ears and without a mask. Review the final preview before payment. Save the confirmation page, application number, payment proof, final photo, signature, impressions, and certificate PDFs in one folder. NEET traffic is heavy near deadlines; finished files save real stress.

Common NEET UG Upload Rejection Reasons

Photo below 10KB or above 200KB

Over-compressed photos become unclear, while phone photos are often too large for the portal.

Face not clear or background not white

NTA expects 80 percent face visibility including ears against a white background.

Wrong signature or impression file

Uploading someone else's signature, unclear impressions, or only one thumb instead of both-hand impressions can create trouble.

Certificate PDF unreadable after compression

A tiny PDF that cannot be read is not useful. Keep text and seals visible even after compression.

About NEET UG Application Documents

NEET UG is the common entrance test for undergraduate medical education in India, including MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS and related admission routes described in the official bulletin. Because the exam affects medical admissions across the country, the application form is designed with tight identity and document checks.

The upload stage is more than a simple photo box. NEET UG 2026 combines normal scanned image uploads, live photograph capture, identity verification, certificate uploads, address proof, category proof and special documents for PwD/PwBD or scribe-related cases. A wrong upload can affect admit card, attendance sheet, counselling, admission, or future verification.

PrepTools helps because everything runs in the browser. Your NEET passport photo, signature, fingers and thumb impressions, category certificate, Class X certificate, address proof and other PDFs stay on your device. No signup, no server upload, and no waiting queue.

Working on engineering admissions too?

NEET, JEE Main and JoSAA have different document stages. Do not reuse one file blindly.
